STAR CITY, W.Va. — A tanker truck accident on Interstate 79 in Monongalia County Friday afternoon forced the closure of all four lanes of the interstate between Star City and the Pennsylvania state line.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department said the truck rolled over and burst into flames.

The accident happened just before 2 o’clock about a mile north of the Star City exit.

Authorities with the Monongalia County Office of Emergency Management report the interstate was expected to be closed for an extended period of time.

One person was reportedly injured but out of the truck.
