Marion County officials investigate sharp objects left in shoes

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. – Officials in Marion County say sharp objects and razor blades have been found in shoes at a local retailer.

One victim reported a cut days after purchasing the shoes. The two-inch razor caused a cut that drew blood, but the victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Officials speculate that shoplifters use sharp objects to compromise packaging, then discard the object where it would be difficult to find.

The case remains under investigation.
