Marion county to add Mobile Health Clinic

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Marion County Health Department has announced plans to field a mobile health clinic this year.

Marion County Health Department administrator, Lloyd White says the purchase will be made with $75,000 in grants, some through the State Opioid Response Grant.

“The mobile clinic is designed to look at ways we can prevent chronic diseases,”White said,”Hypertension, diabetes, weight control and weight management.”

White adds the clinic will also offer vaccinations and harm reduction.

“We’ve known forever what the barriers to healthcare are and in reality we aren’t doing anything about it,”White said,”So, our goal is to take healthcare services to citizens in an effort to reduce chronic diseases.”
