Masks become mandatory on Mountain Line buses Friday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Beginning Friday, June 26 Mountain line riders will be required to wear masks or face coverings. Children under the age of 2 or individuals who are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition are exempt.

“We want everyone to be as safe as they possibly can,”Mountain Line General Manager Dave Bruffy said,”We want to protect the people that ride the bus, our drivers and our service.”

All buses are fumigated with disinfectant, sanitizer, virucide daily, in addition to several measures to ensure the safety of employees and passengers.

“That mask or that face covering is to protect other people on the bus not you,”Bruffy said,”When we talk, cough or sneeze we eject droplets and the scientists tell us that’s what causes COVID-19.”

Bruffy says people with medical conditions should call ahead to find the appropriate way to provide service.

“So, if you have a medical reason I would encourage everybody to plase give us a call at 304-296-3680,”Bruffy said,”So, we can discuss that with you and figure out how we can provide transportation for you.”
