Morgantown bank robbery suspect arrested in PA

UNIONTOWN, Pa. — A Morgantown bank robbery suspect has been arrested in Pennsylvania.

Stephen William Gaza, IV, 34, of Masontown, Pa. was taken into custody at 2:48 p.m. by Pennsylvania State Police.  That’s about an hour after he allegedly attempted to rob Huntington Bank on High Street in Morgantown Monday.

Gaza was arrested after a reported armed robbery at United Bank in South Union Township.  He is accused of pulling a gun, demanding cash and making off with a substantial amount of money.

State police said  Gaza led them on a high speed chase through two townships before being caught.

While in custody, investigators said Gaza confessed to attempting to rob Huntington Bank on High Street in Morgantown.

Gaza is also accused in a PNC Bank robbery Monday and a Super K-Mart robbery June 7 both in Pennsylvania.

Gaza is facing charges of armed robbery, robbery, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault, reckless endangering, fleeing and eluding.
