Morgantown man faces theft, tampering charges

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Deputies from the Mon County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Morgantown man for theft and tampering at a local car dealership Thursday morning.

Around 1:55 a.m. deputies encountered Jereme Shrewsbury, 36, tampering with vehicles at University Motors on Don Knotts Boulevard. A subject matching his description had previously been seen at the car lot on surveillance video.

While being questioned Shrewsbury admitted to breaking into cars at University Motors over the last few weeks.

Shrewsbury has been charged with tampering and petty larceny. He is being in lieu of a $2,500 cash or surety bond.
