Movie planned to tell the Jim Malfregeot story

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Harrison County-based JCFilms pans to begin production of a full-length feature about a Clarksburg city councilman who was shot by a suspected carjacker while protecting his wife and mother-in-law.

Martin Sheen’s brother has agreed to play Jim Malfregeot and Dean Cain has also agreed to be in the movie. Cain said he made the decision to appear in the movie after with Malfregeot to talk about the September 13 incident.

Antonio Dejesus, 33, was wanted for parole violations and had just caused is disturbance at a nearby fast food restaurant before taking Malfregeot’s car with his wife and mother-in-law in it. Malfregeot was shot in the abdomen and required several surgeries over many weeks to recover.

Dejesus is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.

The current title of the production is “Jim Malfregeot.”
