The fire burned at the Gorby Pad, operated by Jay-Bee Oil and Gas along Big Run in the Alma area, for about one hour. It was considered isolated, and no one was injured.

Multiple crews from Tyler, Wetzel and Doddridge Counties were able to contain and extinguish the fire just after midnight Friday morning.

The wells are currently closed as the DEP continues to investigate the fire. Two production units were damaged in the blaze.
