North Allegheny defeats Morgantown High 45-0 in First Game of the Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. —  The Morgantown Mohigans opened the 2017 season on a negative note with plenty to improve upon as they lost to Pennsylvania’s North Allegheny 45-0.

The Mohigans were facing an uphill battle from the beginning with North Allegheny scoring on their first three drives, the first two being a rushing touchdown from running back Turner White and a passsing touchdown from quarterback Luke Trueman.

Morgantown drove into Tiger territory a couple of times in the first half but were unable to convert the attempts into points and after another North Allegheny touchdown, the Mohigans were trailing 24-0 at halftime.

The Mohigans were unable to gain any momentum in the second half after a North Allegheny onside recovery lead to a three play touchdown drive. Morgantown worked to keep the Tigers at bay but after two more touchdowns in the 3rd and 4th quarters, it was all over and the Mohigans lost 45-0.

Morgantown High now looks towards their first game at home next week as they face Ohio juggernaut Steubenville.
