Officials end search for human remains in Harrison County, look for tips

LOST CREEK, W.Va. – After finding a human skull in a wooded area outside Lost Creek police have ended their two day search after finding nothing else.

About 20 officers from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Evidence Response Team and three canine teams combed the heavily overgrown area over difficult terrain after mushroom hunters made the discovery.

The skull has been sent to the Office Of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston for further examination.

The Lost Creek Fire Department, Mayor of Lost Creek, several landowners in the area and the community assisted in the effort.
