Pennsylvania man sentenced for sexual misconduct with Bridgeport teen

Clarksburg, W.Va. A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for sexual misconduct with a Bridgeport teen.

Mark Sassak, 38, started exchanging messages with a 15-year-old female via social media that escalated to text messages for several weeks.

After Sassak asked to meet in person for sex, he drove from his home in Monessen to Bridgeport in October of 2020. Sassak was taken into custody in Bridgeport when he arrived.

During a forensic investigation of Sassak’s phone, investigators found multiple conversations with other minors and child pornographic videos.

During a three-day trial in December of 2021, Sassak was convicted of one count of travel to engage in sexual activity with a minor and a single count of possession of child pornography.
