Probation home visit leads to discovery of three pounds of meth in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Lance McClendon, 45, is back in jail after probation officers found drugs in his home during a routine house check.

Probation officers asked for assistance from the Mon Metro Drug & Violent Crime Task Force after they found a white powdery substance and a digital scale in the home. Police also found 25 grams of a substance that field tested positive for cocaine in a shoe, digital scales that tested positive for methamphetamine residue and nine grams of marijuana.

A more detailed search uncovered a black grocery bag in the washer that contained three pounds of methamphetamine.

McClendon faces two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central ERegional Jail.
