Several animals rescued from Harrison County house fire

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Firefighters from Reynolds, Nutter Fort, Spelter and Stonewood extinguished a house fire and saved several pets Wednesday.

At 11:39 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to Thorn Stop Circle for a call of smoke at a residence. When firefighters arrived they found a working fire in the residence.

Emergency workers were able to rescue nine cats and two dogs. One of the cats suffered burns, but is expected to recover.

No other injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
