Shots fired investigation continues; police say no safety threat

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown police are not releasing identities of the people involved in a Kingwood Street shooting.

But, Monday, Captain Deborah D. Mogus said “this appears to be an isolated incident with no further threat to public safety.”
Officers responded to Kingwood St. near Clark Street around 3:55 a.m. on Nov. 24. They discovered two men with gunshot wounds. One was treated and released from the hospital. Another had to have surgery for his wounds.

The men told police two white men “pulled” a gun and fired 6 or 7 shots.

Police have identified the two men mentioned by the victims.

An investigation continues.
