Taylor County investigators confirm murder, look to the public for tips

Grafton, W. Va. – Taylor County prosecutor John Bord is releasing more details about the homicide of Tyler Poston and appealing to the public for help.

Investigators say Poston was found with multiple gunshot wounds early Saturday morning along on Route 119 between Grafton and Morgantown.

An autopsy was performed on Monday by state officials.

“The shooting was a homicide,” Bord said on WAJR’s Talk of the Town,” He was shot two times in head and four times in the body below the neck.”

Investigators have processed the scene and trying piece together what actually happened that night.

“He was found by a member of his family along side of the road on 119 almost in Monongalia County,” Bord said,” He had been shot and there didn’t appear to be any type of struggle.”

Officials have asked the public for any security, surveillance or dash camera video for any type of clue. Investigators remind the public that any detail, no matter how insignificant it may seem could be important to the case.

“The sheriff’s department is reaching out to anyone who was traveling along that road between 9 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday,” Bord said,” They’ve had some leads and they’re following up on those leads.”
