Three county chase leads to arrest

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – A motorcyclist clocked at 98-miles-per-hour on I-79 was arrested after leading police on a pursuit in three counties.

Police say Caleb Heberlig, 27, accelerated to over 100-miles-per-hour when they activated emergency lights for a traffic stop. Heberlig topped 120-miles-per-hour as he went eastbound on I-68 into Preston County.

Police say he narrowly avoided a collision at the end of the exit ramp to Cooper’s Rock Road.

Herbelig got back onto the interstate and continued to flee eastbound.

At mile marker 26 he was taken into custody.

Herberlig had a suspended driver’s license due to an unpaid ticket and had an improper registration. He has been charged with fleeing with reckless indifference.
