Applications for an absentee ballot will be accepted by the Monongalia County Clerk’s Office until May 4. COVID-19 concerns will not be accounted for anyone who places home confinement as a reason for an absentee ballot requests.

“If you have COVID-19, or you have been exposed to COVID-19, then that is a valid reason for you to request an absentee ballot, but the fear of COVID-19 is no longer a valid reason,” said Blaney.
