Two arrested in Morgantown theft investigation

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Officers from the Morgantown Police Department are contacting owners of stolen property following a theft investigation Tuesday evening in the Evansdale area.

A concerned citizen reported two subjects who appeared to be breaking into cars around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Inglewood Boulevard. The citizen described the suspects as two male high school aged subjects, one wearing all black and another wearing a blue shirt.

Later, police found two suspects matching that description breaking into two separate cars on Harding Avenue.

Deputy Police Chief Eric Powell says the pair was identified as runaway juveniles and detained.

The Morgantown Police Department is in the process of contacting the victims and returning property as they can identify ownership. Residents in the Evansdale area missing items from their cars are urged to contact police.
