U-Haul chase ends in Mon County with one arrest

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A Greensboro, Pennsylvania man is behind bars after fleeing from police in a moving truck.

Reports indicate police in Pennsylvania were trying to stop a U-Haul truck driven by Theodore Gibbs, 28, when the chase crossed into West Virginia the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department assisted.

Mon County deputies say Gibbs was driving 60 to 90 miles-per-hour on Fort Martin Road where the posted speed limit is 40 miles per hour. Police say Gibbs crossed the centerline several times on the rain drenched road and a female passenger jumped from the U-Haul because he would not stop.
