Undercover Operation Leads to Drug Bust in Lewis County

WESTON, W.Va. — A man is in custody after an undercover drug operation by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.

Kevin Obryan Wright, Jr. is alleged to have sold and delivered methamphetamine to an undercover deputy sheriff near West Second Street in Weston during the early afternoon hours Wednesday.

Sheriff Adam Gissy lauded the work of the officers and said it was an important bust for them.

“Of late, methamphetamine has been on the rise within our community. The efforts to eradicate the dangerous drug begins at the street level; however the ultimate goal is to identify, and incarcerate the ones who are supplying the folks in our town.”

In addition to delivering an illegal controlled substance, Wright was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Hydrocodone, and Driving on a Revoked Operators for DUI.

He is being held at Central Regional Jail with bail set at $100,000.
