THE SERIES
If the current pattern holds true, its Moragntown’s year to beat the Applemen. Musselman defeated the Mohigans in 2014 and 2016, while Morgantown owns wins in 2013 and 2015. Last year, Musselman came to Pony Lewis Field and picked up a 21-14 win. Applemen running back Jacob Northcraft rushed for 241 yards on 26 carries.

MOHIGAN NOTES
It’s not an overstatement to consider this week six match up with Musselman as a must-win for Morgantown. The Mohigans still have games looming with Wheeling Park and University, plus match ups with improved John Marshall and Riverside teams.

Morgantown challenged Martinsburg, at times, last week but made far too many mistakes to mount any real upset bid against the Bulldogs. Morgantow fumbled five times, lost two of them, and had two punts blocked. The Mohigans must avoid shooting themselves in the foot and giving Musselman short fields.

MUSSELMAN NOTES
The Appelmen come into the game tied for No. 1 in this week’s WVSSAC Power Ratings. Tailback Jacob Northcraft receives a lot of the attention and its well deserved. He became Musselman’s all-time leading rusher earlier this year and has the ability to wear down a defense. However, don’t be deceived that Musselman is an exclusive run team. Quarterback Chris Fox can throw it down field and has a couple of talented receivers in Cam Medler and Blake Hartman.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Jacob Northcraft has been a starter since he set foot on Musselman’s campus. Musselman can set the tempo for the game with Northcraft.

For Morgantown, Cole Streyle has done everything the coaching staff has asked of him this year. He is the anchor for the defense at middle linebacker and on offense Streyle has moved from fullback to tight end to guard to tackle and back to tight end.
