West Virginia reality TV contestant dies of cardiac arrest

MANNINGTON, W.Va. – West Virginia native and contestant on the MTV reality show “Are You the One” was found dead this morning just before 7 a.m. in her Mannington home.

Mannington chief of police Brian Stewart says family members had been giving her CPR when the 911 call came in.

“Shortly before 7 a.m. we had a call about a cardiac arrest in Mannington,”Stewart said,”She was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Because of the active investigation Stewart was not able to provide ant details but did talk about the family.

“We have not had a history with Alexis and her family are really good people,” Stewart said.

Eddy had been very open about her struggles with substance abuse. In late September, she posted a photo taken with her father stating they had both been sober for two years.

Unconfirmed reports say Eddy arrived at her mothers house at 11 p.m. and seemed fine.

The incident remains under investigation.
