Winter Weather Advisory issued in parts of northern West Virginia

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA — A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 7 p.m. Monday evening.

Snow is expected to begin Monday evening into the overnight hours Tuesday morning. The ridges of eastern Monongalia County, northwestern Preston County, eastern Preston County, western Tucker County, and Eastern Tucker County are all included in the advisory.

Accumulation is expected to be between 2-4 inches, with locally higher totals possible. Wind gusts of up to 20 to 30 MPH may cause localized blowing and drifting snow.

The advisory has been issued for northern West Virginia, by Pittsburgh’s National Weather Service.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility.
