Wisp victim identified, investigation ongoing

GARRETT COUNTY, Md. – Maryland State Police have identified the victim of a accident at the Wisp Resort as Harry Congdon, 56, of Baltimore.

Police were not notified of the accident and only began their investigation after being alerted by a family member.

Congdon was one of two people in the coaster cart when he was thrown from the car for an unknown reason. He was treated at the scene and transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he died later.

Inspectors from the Maryland Department of Labor say the coaster was in good working order when inspected immediately following the incident.

No foul play is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
