WVU students, faculty COVID testing positives drop slightly

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Continued COVID testing for WVU students and faculty is continuing with very few reports of positive results.

From Monday, July 27 through Monday, August 3 the university tested 3,646 students that resulted in 35 positive results. The total percentage positive during the period for students was .96 percent. A total of three positive results were reported for the tests of 2,994 staff, resulting in a positive rate of .1 percent.

The combined positive rate for students and staff for the period is .57 percent, down from .59 percent total positive during the previous week.

Faculty testing is scheduled to wrap up on August 8 while students testing will run through August 22.
