Former VA physician pleads guilty to assault charges

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A former doctor at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Hospital in Clarksburg has pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault. The plea will allow the physician to avoid jail time.

Dr. Kenneth C. Ramdat, 66, of Silver Spring, Maryland admitted to touching the breasts of two staff workers without permission while in isolated rooms of incapacitated patients. The incidents happened in August 2019 and October 2019 at the hospital in Harrison County.

Ramdat was sentenced to one year of probation, but weill not be required to register as a sex offender.

In court, Ramdat called his behavior “repulsive.”
