MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A pair of contractors are set to begin work on the 2024 Street Improvement Plan in Morgantown.

Morgantown-based Anderson Excavating, LLC will begin work on the $792,000 2024 Street Improvement Plan Wednesday, June 5.

The scope of work includes milling and repaving Harding Avenue, Country Club Drive, portions of Oakland Street and University Avenue, and various surrounding alleyways and smaller streets primarily northeast of University Avenue.

Work operations are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and are expected to continue through Friday, June 7.

Crews will be working in the Evansdale first then moving to Sabraton and Greenmont neighborhoods in the second and third weeks of June.

The work is scheduled to be completed before July 1, but poor weather conditions or worksite conditions could extend the schedule.

Motorists are urged to expect delays and plan an alternate route in the Evansdale area for the rest of this week. Residents, workers, and visitors to the area should remember that on-street parking restrictions have been posted for at least 48 hours and will be enforced, including being towed if they interfere with planned work.
