FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont police say a 72-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a police cruiser Wednesday afternoon. Country Club Road Wednesday.
Witnesses told police the 72-year-old driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Bison Road and Country Club Road striking a the marked police vehicle.
The police officer reported minor injuries and declined treatment at the scene, a canine in the cruiser was also uninjured. The driver of the car was declared deceased at the scene.
The name of the driver has not been released.
FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Police in Fairmont are investigating a possible fatal accident on Country Club Road Wednesday.
Officials say the two-vehicle accident was reported around 1:40 p.m. and unconfirmed reports say one person is believed to be dead.
Currently Country Club Road is closed for the investigation.
