Morgantown man arrested in Gilmer County with a quantity of marijuana

GILMER COUNTY, W.Va. – A report from the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Department says a 19-year-old Morgantown man was caught with a pound of marijuana during a routine traffic atop.

Deputies observed Ryan Bailey, talking on a cell phone and riving on Highway 5 West in Glenville and conducted a traffic stop.

After smelling a slight aroma of marijuana deputies asked Bailey if there were drugs in the car and he said there was not. Bailey did tell deputies he had smoked marijuana in vehicle earlier that day.

When asked to get out of the vehicle Bailey told police he had marijuana. He grabbed a black grocery bag containing one pound of marijuana and gave it to police.

Police also found a set of scales and a box of plastic baggies.

Bailey was taken to the Central Regional Jail and charged with possession with intent to deliver.
