Shaffer to represent Preston Co. in the House

TUNNELTON, W.Va.– Preston County has a new representative in the House of Delegates. Steven Shaffer has been appointed by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin to replace Democrat Larry Williams.

Shaffer will fill the open seat in the 52nd House District. Williams announced in April that he was leaving the Legislature to take a job with the state Department of Agriculture.

Shaffer, an attorney in Tunnelton, was selected out of a group of three possible candidates.

Selden Pratt of Masontown and Scott DeWitt of Kingwood were the other two candidates.
