MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Morgantown man accused of killing Alexa Randolph, 32, will have his preliminary hearing this week. Gary Smith, 60, is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Nabors Friday at 11:45 a.m.
Officials say Randolph’s 5-year-old son was staying at Smith’s home when she went missing January 28. Her body was found about one day after a missing persons investigation had been initiated.
Additionally, investigators say Smith revealed things only someone who was at the crime scene would know and made incriminating statements.
Smith is being held in the North Central Regional Jail
