Allegedly intoxicated Preston County man charged after rolling car with two children

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. A Bruceton Mills man is facing charges after police allege he drove while intoxicated and flipped a car with two children as passengers.

The time of the crash was not specified, but officers found Michael Reed, 33, with the car and two children off North Preston Highway in Bruceton Mills on Saturday. Police allege Reed had slurred speech and smelled like alcoholic beverages.

Police said the two children were five and seven years old.

According to the police, Reed failed a field sobriety test and refused additional sobriety testing. While being processed, police said Reed would not provide his fingerprints.

Reed has been charged with DUI with minors in the vehicle and fingerprint refusal.

He is being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
