Arrest made after Hazel’s House of Hope disturbance

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. A Morgantown man is facing multiple charges after an altercation at Hazel’s House of Hope on Wednesday.

Staff members called the Morgantown Police Department when Richard Arthur Kempf, 53, became unruly and would not leave the Scptt Avenue facility when asked.

When police arrived and asked Kempf to leave, he began yelling and told police they would have to physically remove him from the property.

Through the entire interaction with police and staff, Kempf allegedly continued to yell and curse.

When Kempf was placed under arrest, police found 12 grams of suspected marijuana.

Kempf has pleaded not guilty to obstructing an officer, trespassing, possession, disorderly conduct, and refusing to submit fingerprints.

He is being held in the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $1,500 bond.
