Arrest made after Morgantown knife attack

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. Police are investigating an alleged stabbing on Brookhaven Road Sunday.

Officers responded around 11:10 p.m. Sunday and found the victim waiting on the steps leading to the home with a wound on his left leg.

Inside the home, police encountered and detained Jamere Kelsor, 20, of Bluefield, who had a knife in a sheath on his waistband and appeared to have a wound to a finger.

According to the victim, Kelsor got the knife out prior to getting into a fight throughout the house and onto a balcony, where he allegedly stabbed him and threatened to kill him.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Kelsor has been charged with domestic battery and malicious assault and is being held at North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
