Arrest made in Salem bank robbery case

SALEM, W.Va. – Members of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI arrested one suspect without incident Wednesday in connection with the November 17 robbery of the Summit Community Bank in Salem.

Clinton Monroe Utter, 43, was taken into custody around 8 p.m. during the traffic stop on U. S. 50 near Salem.

Reports from police say Utter entered the bank around 8 a.m. November 17 and displayed a gun, demanded cash then fled in a car that belonged to an employee.

The car was recovered later. No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
