Attempted robbery at WVU Downtown Library under investigation

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Police are investigating an attempted robbery in the Downtown Campus Library that was reported on Wednesday.

The victim said an unknown subject entered a study room uninvited around 3:30 p.m., asked questions, and then attempted to take a vape pen from the victim. No weapons were involved. The victim forcefully pulled away and left. The suspect has been seen previously in the downtown area, including the library, but no other issues have been reported.

The suspect is described as a tall, white male with brown hair and a scruffy beard. UPD provided a photo of the person.
