City of Morgantown hires new Assistant City Manager

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Emily Muzzarelli has been named the new Assistant City Manager in Morgantown.

Muzzarelli, a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, was selected from a pool of 65 candidates. According to a release from the City of Morgantown, Muzzarelli worked for the WallacePancher Group, an engineering and environmental firm based in Pennsylvania.

“I am thrilled to have Emily join our executive management team,” said City Manager Paul Brake. “I look at the strengths in her background as contributing greatly to infrastructure improvements and capital projects that the City has planned. The City has scheduled improvements in the near future to Sunnyside, Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park and the annual road paving plan. Each of these are complex projects that will greatly benefit from Ms. Muzzarelli’s expertise.”

Muzzarelli will assume her role July 9, 2018.

Former Assitant City Manager Angela Cline, hired last June, tendered her resignation April 6, 2018.
