Clarksburg man faces multiple charges after attacks on Fairmont resident, police and hospital workers

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – A Clarksburg man is behind bars after allegedly punching and kicking several people in a Fairmont home.

Police were called to the home on Spence Street Thursday where a female victim told police Phoenix Huffman, 28, punched her in the face and kicked her in the ribs. The victim had significant swelling in the facial area.

Police spoke to another witness who said he went to the Spence Street home because he heard screaming coming from the home. When he got to the home he said Huffman punched him and fled up Maple Avenue to Chicago Street before police arrived.

Police found Huffman in field where police said he tried to break an officer’s finger and kicked another in thigh while being taken into custody.

At the hospital, police said Huffman kicked a security guard in face and threw a container he had urinated in at a nurse.

Huffman has been charged with battery, domestic battery, disorderly conduct, obstructing, two counts of battery on a police officer. one count of battery on a healthcare worker and refusal to fingerprint.

He is being held in the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,012 bond.
