Clarksburg Water Board issues boil advisory, Bridgeport included

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) has issued boil advisories for select regions of their service area.

The boil advisory is in effect for the city of Bridgeport, Adamston, Broad Oaks, Chestnut Hills, and the downtown area, including Main Street, Pike Street, and all intersecting streets.

Bridgeport officials said the CWB is their primary source of water so they extended the advisory to their city.

CWB officials said interruptions of service and discolored water have been caused by work being done on South Chestnut Street.

All customers in these areas are advised not to drink the water without boiling it first. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice.

Customers with questions are asked to call 304-623-3711.
