MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. – One person was killed in a head on crash under the I-79 overpass on Blue Horizon Drive Friday morning.
Investigators said at 7:24 a.m. Charles Hicks, 68, of Core, was southbound on Blue Horizon Drive when he crossed the centerline and struck a northbound pickup truck.
Hicks was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Mon EMS, Cassville Volunteer Fire Department, Mon County HazMat Team, and West Virginia Division of Highways all assisted the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
