MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Morgantown Police Department reports a serious crash on University Avenue at the Cobun Creek Bridge.
The driver of the vehicle, Shannon Brown, 19, of Jacksonburg, West Virginia, was southbound on South University Avenue. She crossed two northbound lanes of traffic and entered a wooded area adjacent to the roadway and continued traveling north until the vehicle crashed into Cobun Creek.
Brown was able to get out of the vehicle on her own and was alert and talking to officers at the scene. Brown was later transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
The accident remains under investigation.
