Crashes cause major delays on I-79 northbound in Marion County Friday

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. – At least one person was injured, and traffic was tied up most of Friday on I-79 northbound in Marion County.

The first crash was reported at 8:59 a.m. at mile marker 141, according to Marion County 911 officials. Soon after, another crash was reported at mile marker 139, causing more problems for motorists and first responders.

One person was transported from the scene of the second crash. No other injuries were reported.

West Virginia 511 reports congestion delays through late Friday afternoon.
