Dellslow woman sentenced in illegal firearms conspiracy

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Monongalia County woman will serve a year in prison for her involvement with an illegal firearms operation, and a Harrison County man is facing nearly 8 years in a drug ring.

Sentences returned from Clarksburg Federal Court Tuesday included Margaret Parker, 33, of Dellslow.

Parker pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to violate federal firearms laws in June 2018, admitting to being involved in a conspiracy that included making false statements to purchase firearms, trading firearms for controlled substances, and transporting and selling the firearms out-of-state.

The crimes in question occurred in Morgantown, Monongalia County, and elsewhere from May 2017 to June 2017.

Meanwhile, Jordan T. Ratliff, 26, of Clarksburg, faces 92 months in prison for methamphetamine distribution and firearms charges.

Ratliff pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm in April 2018, admitting to distributing methamphetamine in December 2017 in Harrison County.

He had previously been convicted of crimes in Monongalia County, which resulted in the firearm charge. Ratliff admitted to possessing a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol in February 2018 in Harrison County.

Both cases were part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program designed to bring together law enforcement to collaborate at all levels.
