Doddridge County elected official arrested for domestic battery

WEST UNION, W.Va. – Another Doddridge County official is facing criminal charges. Edward John Barker, 58, a member of the West Union Town Council, was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery following a Child Protective Services investigation.

No details about the incident have been released, but if convicted he could be sentenced to 12 months in prison and a fine of up to $500.

Former sheriff and magistrate Michael Headley, former sheriff’s department employee Angela Lamb and former county commissioner Ronald Travis have all been indicted for fraud. The group allegedly misused municipal credit cards and misdirected local purchases to personal uses. They’ll be arraigned July 20.
