DOH announces night lane closures on I-79 in Marion County this week

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Highways (DOH) has announced a lane closure on I-79 southbound in Marion County for night work operations this week. Officials have opted to do the work at night to minimize delays for the traveling public.

Work operations will take place between mile marker 132, the South Fairmont exit, and mile marker 133, the Kingmont exit, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2023, through Saturday, October 14, 2023, for work on bridges, shoulders and some roadway items.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel or find an alternate route because major delays are expected.

Weather or conditions in the work area could change the project schedule.
