Drug arrest made in vacant Clarksburg home Christmas Eve

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – a Doddridge County man has been charged after police in Clarksburg found drugs in a vacant property he was allegedly trespassing in.

On Christmas Eve, officers with the Clarksburg Police Department found Bruce Edgell, 39, of Center Point, trespassing in the home on Adams Street.

During the investigation, police learned Edgell was also wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for a third DUI offense.

While processing, Edgell police found 3.25 grams of heroin, 4.26 grams of fentanyl, and three Suboxone strips. Edgell did not have a prescription for Suboxone. Police also recovered a firearm that Edgell was not allowed to carry due to a probable felony conviction, packaging materials, scales, a cash app card, and $25.82.

Edgell has been charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.
