Fairmont bank robbery under investigation

bank_robber-fairmont-650x350FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Police in Fairmont are looking for a female suspect in a Friday bank robbery.

Huntington Bank at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Adams Street was robbed at 4:34 p.m. by a white woman reportedly in her 20’s or 30’s.

According to Fairmont Police Chief Steve Shine the suspect stands 5’7″  and weighs approximately 140 pounds.

She was wearing black pants, a red hooded sweatshirt, mirrored sunglasses and a ball cap with blonde hair tucked underneath.

Detective B.L. Sgt. Stewart discovered the woman presented a note to a teller and demanded money.  It was uncertain if a weapon was involved.  The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
