Fairmont man admits to federal firearm violation

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Fairmont resident has entered a guilty plea to charges in connection with lying on government form to purchase a firearm.

Jermel Matthew Williams, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement in connection with firearms that were later encountered by law enforcement during crime investigations in California and Puerto Rico.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms conducted the investigation.
