Fairmont man jailed after Taylor County pursuit

TAYLOR COUNTY, W.Va. – A Fairmont man faces multiple charges after a pursuit over the weekend.

Reports indicate that when Chad Miller, 48, ran a stop sign in Fetterman, police determined he had an expired registration out of Maryland. When police attempted to stop Miller, he fled at speeds of around 70 miles per hour.

During the pursuit, Miller allegedly ran another stop sign and crossed the center line on several occasions.

Police were able to stop Miller by speeding ahead of him and creating a rolling road block.

While processing Miller, police said they found a cigarette pack that contained prescription drugs and methamphetamine.

Miller has been charged with improper registration, fleeing, no motorcycle license, failure to obey a traffic device, failure to maintain insurance, and driving while suspended.

Miller is in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of a $37,600 bond.
