Fairmont Senior kicks off Super Six weekend

WHEELING, W.Va. — Fairmont Senior High School playing in their second straight SSAC Super Six High School Football Championships will kick off a weekend’s worth of coverage on the MetroNews Radio Network.

“We got a lot of new faces and a lot of new roles and responsibilities,” Fairmont Senior High Coach Nick Bartic said. “With that, we got better each week. I think that’s something that we really we’ve been able to see as the season went on.”

The Class AA title features #4 Fairmont Senior (12-1) and #2 Bluefield (13-0) at 7 p.m. Friday night. Pre-game coverage begins on the MetroNews Radio Network and on the MetroNews Channel in High Definition at 6:45 p.m.

“It should be a good one,” Bartic said. “They have a lot of talent. They’re big and fast. There’s obvious challenges in preparation for these guys.”

Coverage continues with the Class AAA Championship Game Saturday as #2 Martinsburg (13-0) faces #4 Spring Valley (11-2).

Coverage concludes in Class A with #5 St. Mary’s (11-1) facing #10 Wheeling Central (9-4). That game kicks at 7 p.m. Saturday. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:45 p.m.
